Sydney Shillam - Accounting & Operations Associate

Sydney Shillam joined the JDL team in 2020 as a part-time assistant bookkeeper. Over the years, her role has expanded significantly, and she now supports a wide range of operational and financial functions, including client account administration, account openings and maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, bookkeeping, and other key back-office processes that help keep the firm running smoothly.

Sydney's aptitude for numbers and financial operations came as a pleasant surprise. Despite being the daughter of a high school math teacher and coach, she never considered herself a "math person." Instead, she pursued her creative interests at Texas Tech University, where she was a member of the sports film crew and developed a passion for storytelling through media and athletics. After college, however, she discovered a talent for financial organization, problem-solving, and process management that has proven both rewarding and impactful.

Known for her attention to detail, strong work ethic, and commitment to excellence, Sydney takes pride in ensuring that tasks are completed accurately, clients are well served, and operations run efficiently. She enjoys bringing order to complexity and helping both teammates and clients navigate administrative and financial processes with confidence.



Outside the office, Sydney enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends. She and her family attend church in the Dallas area, where they are actively involved in their local community.
